Science communication
This course is aimed at researchers looking to develop their skills and test out practical tips for online communication using social media and videos.
About the programme
We start by questioning our aims and trying to determine which audiences we are trying to reach through which means. We then dig deeper into writing for social media, having a look at various platforms behind the scenes and challenging ourselves to produce the tweet that will get the most likes. The second part is dedicated to making short videos. We look at video-making mostly from the content point of view: how to choose the most engaging content, how to present it in an exciting way, how to tailor it to our audiences.
We run this course in collaboration with Wiktor Gajewski, a professional science communicator with a wealth of experience working with leading European science centres. The first time we ran this course was for a group of international PhD students working on artificial intelligence and data protection.
This training is available on demand. It can be tailored to the needs of specific organisations and can shrink or extend in time as required.
