🗣️ ‘Very interactive – I’ve already started to apply my learnings!’

🗣️ ‘Well chaired, interactive, great content!’

🗣️ ‘Positive atmosphere, smooth interactions, well-chosen exercises and good moderation!’

🗣️ ‘Makes you want to do more facilitation!’

We’ve just wrapped up our open facilitation skills training course last week – and this was some of the feedback we’ve had from our participants over the five weeks!

We love running these training courses as they are a great chance to meet incredible people who are doing excellent facilitation work in many different contexts. And we’re always happy to see that our training modules are seen as an added value for our participants.

During this training course we covered different skills, challenges and perspectives that are key to take your facilitation efforts to the next level. Here are some examples of what we talked about over the five modules:

✅ How to (co-)create a solid framework for facilitation, ensuring that your sessions run smoothly and allow the participants to safely express their views and build upon the ideas of others.

✅ Developing and practicing specific skills that are vital for a competent and effective facilitation, such as active listening and connecting and re-framing ideas.

✅ Asking the right questions to your participants to promote clarity and a deeper understanding of their ideas.

✅ How to explore possibly contentious topics while laying the groundwork for consensus among the group.

✅ How to generate a wide range of ideas through brainstorming techniques, and how to process them into clear priorities and actionable points.

✅ Getting out of tricky situations, managing possible conflicts and avoiding some common workshop pitfalls.

But above all, we are glad to have fostered an opportunity for discussion and experience-sharing among facilitators with different levels of expertise. Everyone had fascinating contributions and so much more was learned because of this!
